Polish composers to join the FMF gala!
Outstanding Polish composers – Abel Korzeniowski, Jan A.P.Kaczmarek, Maciej Zieliński and Atanas Valkov – will join the best composers from all over the world for the “All is Film Music” gala.Abel Korzeniowski, a composer from Krakow who has been a guest of the FMF twice, laureate of the BAFTA Award will enthral the audience with the sound of the outstanding Penny Dreadful TV series, Jan A.P. Kaczmarek will present the Academy Award-winning music from Finding Neverland.
On the 20th of May, the audience of the Festival gathered at TAURON Arena Kraków will also hear the music to one of the most famous crime TV series of the last year, The Teacher, starring Maciej Stuhr. Atanas Valkov – Polish composer with Bulgarian roots is currently composing a special suite for the FMF, combining musical motifs from the series. The identity of the murderer of Asia Walewska intrigued the audience of Canal+ from the very first episode. Endless discussions went on at many pages and boards, countless theories were crafted… The Teacher won the 2017 Empik Bestsellers Award for Phenomenon of the Year.
Atanas Valkov is not only a composer, but also a multi-instrumentalist and music producer, laureate of the first prize of the 7th Berlinale Score Competition, also nominated for the European Talent Award in Cologne. He composed music for short films by Tomasz Bagiński (Polish Legends), Andrzej Wajda (Zwięzła kronika czasu) and Jan P. Matuszyński (Deep Love, The Last Family). In collaboration with European Space Agency (ESA) he produced Ambition, an album commemorating the Rosetta mission and the historic landing on the 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko comet. The artist also created the Transoriental project, and was responsible for producing Kayah’s platinum album Transoriental Orchestra. Throughout his career, he produced countless albums, singles, remixes, soundtracks and advertising campaigns. In his music, he boldly combines electronica and classical music, moving freely between various musical genres. Among the latest productions featuring his music were TVP’s Bodo, The Teacher (Canal+) and Polish Legends – a series of short science fiction films, created by Tomasz Bagiński.
During the “ALL IS FILM MUSIC: The Anniversary Gala of the 10th FMF” concert we are going to hear world premieres of soundtracks from Emerald City, The Night Of, Fargo, Homeland, 24 and The Teacher, as well as premieres of suites from Penny Dreadful and Humble Servants.
Miniony rok był dla Atanasa wyjątkowo ważny z kilku względów. Poza sukcesem muzyki do serialu „Belfer” należy wspomnieć chociażby stworzenie ścieżki dźwiękowej do serialu „Bodo” czy „Legend Polskich” – serii filmów krótkometrażowych science-fiction oraz fantasy zrealizowanych m.in.: przez Tomasza Bagińskiego. Valkov współpracował także z Janem, P. Matuszyńskim przy filmie „Ostatnia rodzina”.
Rok 2017 zapowiada się dla niego równie intensywnie. 20 maja o godzinie 18:00 w krakowskiej Tauron Arenie Valkov wystąpi na Festiwalu Muzyki Filmowej w gronie najbardziej uznanych polskich kompozytorów, w tym Jana A. P. Kaczmarka, Abela Korzeniowskiego i Macieja Zielińskiego. Podczas jubileuszowej gali „Al lis Film Music” wykona suitę z serialu „Belfer” w nowej, symfoniczno-elektronicznej aranżacji.
W trakcie koncertu „ALL IS FILM MUSIC: 10. FMF Gala Jubileuszowa” usłyszymy światowe premiery utworów z seriali „The Emerald City ”, „Długa Noc”, „Fargo”, „Homeland”, „24” i „Belfer”, a także prapremiery suit z filmów „Dom grozy” oraz „Sługi boże”.
